Medicare Insurance Options

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people 65 and older and for some younger people with disabilities. Private insurance products exist alongside it, such as Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policies and Medicare Advantage plans. We help clients understand how these options work so they can make an informed choice.

Worth knowing in Louisiana

Which plans are available depends on where you live and the annual enrollment periods set by the federal Medicare program. We do not represent the federal government, and we cannot promise eligibility, pricing, or plan availability. Bring your questions and we will walk through the basics together.

What Medicare options can include

Each item below is a distinct coverage with its own limit and, in some cases, deductible. Whether a specific loss is covered always depends on the terms of the policy you purchase.

01Medicare Supplement (Medigap)
Private policies that help pay some of the out-of-pocket costs original Medicare leaves behind, such as deductibles and coinsurance. Standardized plan types are set by federal rules.
02Medicare Advantage (Part C)
Private plans that deliver Medicare benefits through a carrier network, often bundling drug coverage. Plan availability and networks vary by parish and change year to year.
03Prescription drug plans (Part D)
Standalone plans that cover prescription drugs alongside original Medicare. Each plan has its own formulary and pharmacy network.
