How pricing works
Why there's no price list, and what actually sets your premium
Insurance premiums aren't set by the agency. Each carrier files its rates with the Louisiana Department of Insurance and prices every policy individually, from the details of what's being insured. So instead of a rate card, here is what actually moves the number, and how to get yours.
- Factor 01What you're insuring
- The vehicle's value and repair cost, the home's rebuild cost, age, roof, and construction, or the size and type of a business. Bigger or costlier-to-repair risks cost more to insure.
- Factor 02Coverage limits and deductibles
- Higher limits raise premium. Higher deductibles lower it because you keep more of the small-loss risk. This is the lever you control most directly, and we quote multiple combinations so you can see the difference in dollars.
- Factor 03Location
- Louisiana rates vary sharply by parish and even by street: distance to the coast, flood zone, fire protection class, and local claim history all feed carrier rating models.
- Factor 04History
- Prior claims, driving record, lapses in coverage, and years continuously insured. Carriers price recent history most heavily, which is why premiums change over time even when nothing else does.
- Factor 05The carrier itself
- Every carrier files its own rates with the Louisiana Department of Insurance and appetites differ. The same house can be quoted very differently by two insurers. This is the reason an independent agency compares several.
What a quote is (and isn't)
A quote from us is free and carries no obligation. It's an estimate based on the information you provide. The final premium is set by the carrier when the application is completed. We never promise a specific saving. We show you real numbers from multiple carriers and let you compare.
