1. Who we are
Beneficial Insurance Agency, Inc. (“the Agency,” “we,” “us”) is an independent insurance producer licensed by the Louisiana Department of Insurance, with offices at 519 W. St. Bernard Hwy, Chalmette, LA 70043 and 90 Louis Prima Dr., Suite A, Covington, LA 70433. This notice describes our practices for nonpublic personal and financial information, consistent with Louisiana Insurance Regulation 76 and the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information, whether through forms on this website, by phone, in person, or in the course of quoting and servicing insurance: (a) information you provide on quote requests and applications — such as name, address, email, phone number, date of birth, driver’s license number, vehicle and property details, and claims or loss history; (b) information about your transactions with us, our carriers, or others — such as policy numbers, coverages, premiums, and payment history; (c) information we receive from third parties in the quoting process — such as motor vehicle records, claims databases, credit-based insurance scores, and property inspection reports; and (d) basic website analytics (pages viewed, device type, approximate location) as described in Section 7.
3. How we use your information
We use this information to quote, place, renew, and service insurance coverage on your behalf; to communicate with you about your policies, claims, and requests; to comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and to operate this website. We do not sell personal information.
4. What we share, and with whom
To do our work as your agent, we disclose information to insurance carriers, wholesale brokers, and surplus lines markets for the purpose of obtaining quotes and placing or servicing coverage; to claims adjusters and carriers when you report a claim; and to service providers who process data on our behalf (for example, our customer-relationship and form-processing systems), who are permitted to use it only to provide those services. We may also disclose information as required by law, subpoena, or the Louisiana Department of Insurance.
5. Sharing with unaffiliated third parties; your opt-out right
We do not disclose your nonpublic personal or financial information to unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes. If our practices ever changed such that a disclosure not permitted by law would occur, we would first provide you a revised notice and a reasonable opportunity to opt out, as Regulation 76 requires. You may direct questions or an opt-out request at any time by calling either office; disclosures necessary to place or service your coverage (Section 4) are permitted by law and are not affected by an opt-out.
6. How we protect information
We restrict access to your information to employees who need it to provide products or services to you, and we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with applicable regulations. Former customers’ information is handled under the same practices described here.
7. Website forms, cookies, and analytics
Forms on this site collect only what you enter and are transmitted to our customer-management system so an agent can respond. Submitting a form does not bind coverage. We use analytics tools that set cookies to measure site usage in aggregate; you can decline non-essential cookies via the cookie banner and your browser settings.
8. Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, and receive a copy of this notice at any time. Louisiana residents may also contact the Louisiana Department of Insurance with privacy complaints at www.ldi.la.gov.
9. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will post the revised version here with a new “last updated” date and, where required by Regulation 76, provide direct notice. Questions: call or write to either office listed above.
